Finish Options for Indoor and Outdoor Spaces
Traditional or whimsical, indoors or out? Only Bago Luma makes it so easy to get what you want. Most items are available in any of the finishes shown below. Some finishes are considered a "Special Order" and will require prepayment. For large contract orders, custom finishing is available.
Because all finishes are applied by hand, variations are to be expected. Product may be purchased "unfinished", allowing the customer to have it finished on site or sent to a powder coating facility. Cost for this is approximately 5% less than the Basic Finish price. Color Sample set is available for $35.
NEW! Weather Resistant Finishes
Bago Luma has worked closely with designers and technicians at Sherwin Williams to develop a process that allows us to produce finishes that are suitable for use in an unprotected outdoor environment. This procedure is expected to perform as well or better than traditional powder coating, but allows us to continue with our policy of offering only handcrafted and hand finished product. These finishes are not limited to outdoor use; they will look great in any room of the house!
Summer Nights
Soft black with subtle reddish brown undertones.
Red Clay
Brownish red color with soft black accents.
Autumn Gold
Warm gold with brown undertones.
Spanish Moss
Olive green with brown undertones.
Chestnut
Warm brown with black and amber accents;similar to Natural Rust.
Finishes for Indoor and Protected Areas
Finishes shown on the sample ring below have been successfully used both indoors and out, but when exposed to excessive moisture the metal will oxidize and cause changes to the finish that may not be desired.
Natural Rust - Our best selling finish
Deliberately oxidized (rusted) and sealed, resulting in a variety of warm brown tones that play off an interesting texture. Because it's a natural process, texture and coloration vary.
Sheer Metal
Bare iron is clear coated, allowing colors and stress marks from manufacturing to show. This is a very industrial look.
Florentine Gold
Soft gold sponged over Natural Rust, resulting in a more elegant look.
Crackle Colors
Today's most popular colors are treated to an aging technique that gives the piece added charm. Top color is forced to crack and peel, exposing brown color below. Occasionally, small amounts of oxidation will seep through the color, generating areas with yellow/brown accents. Crackle finishes available in:

Jose tends to the "rust garden" in Boerne, Texas. This is where iron product is oxidized before being treated to an industrial sealer to create the Natural Rust Finish.
